Note: Today (Wednesday, March 17, 2010) I joined in with Cheryl of Twinfatuation for Wayback Wednesday. This is the first time I've tried this ... I hope it works.
Marianne's Blog Post inspired me to get this post up this morning. We were both thinking along the same lines, at the same time. Thanks for the inspiration, Marianne, to get mine done.
Yesterday, I surprised my family by scanning this old photo I found and emailing it to them. My sister responded by doing the same. We ended up each scanning several photos that most of us have never seen. Here are the photos ... Hope you enjoy them ....
This is my paternal grandparents wedding photo. She is 98 (99 in June) and he passed away before I was born.
My grandmother remarried this man. So my dad was raised around horses. He in turn raised us on a ranch with lots of animals ... mainly horses.
This is my dad and his sister at 3 & 4. They were born 11 months apart.

This is my dad's graduation picture before he entered the navy.

What a beautiful family!
So did you share a love of skating too? You mom is gorgeous!
Thanks for linking up to my post :) I still can't believe we had the same thoughts at the same time!! Although, not as unbelieveable as this other blogger who literally wrote almost the same thing I wrote about Keith Morrison the day after mine. Same pics and same video, too. And to my knowledge, she had never seen my blog before. Weird. But she actually likes him, I think he's a creep haha.
I digress.
I LOVE the photos! Which one are you in the family photo? Based on your pic from yesterday, I'm guess the left in the back row? If I'm right do I get a prize? lol!
Your dad is SO handsome! And your mom, WOWZA!No wonder you're so beautiful! That's so cool she did the Holiday On Ice show!
Thanks for sharing the photos, I love getting a peak into someone's childhood :)
Marianne
PS, did I ever tell you I like your signature? Because it looks so good!!
I absolutely LOVE old pictures! I need to start digging out the old ones I have and start scanning.
Love it
Oh Merri Ann, what an incredible introduction to your family! Those classic photos (and your wonderful descriptions to companion them) are PRICELESS!
thank you so much for joining in with Way Back When-esday! Hope you will play along often. :)
how much fun me and my mom will soon be copying pictures that are quite old
That must have been so fun to trade pictures with your sister!!! I have all our family photos...I should scan some and see if my dad remembers any of them.
Your mom was a knock-out!! How fun that she ice skated! Did she teach you all how to ice skate??
Love, Love, love those pictures! How awesome is that? I really should do the same since we put our blog into a yearly book at blurb.com...visit it if you haven't. I think it would make a great keepsake for our kids later. It took my blog and slurped it into a book in 5 minutes! How awesome is that?!!
Keep the pictures coming!
